Galaxy A18 4G in Europe... 6 years of updates and a new Exynos processor! 🚀
Samsung quietly launched its new budget-friendly Galaxy A18 4G smartphone in several European countries, including France, Norway, and Sweden. This phone serves as a direct replacement for the previous generation Galaxy A17 4G, featuring improvements such as a new processor, extended software support, and enhanced water resistance. Details regarding the availability of a 5G version are still unavailable. Samsung replaced the MediaTek Helio G99 processor used in the previous model with its own Exynos 1610 chipset, supported by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card.
The phone comes with a 7.7mm thick body and weighs 196 grams, slightly exceeding its predecessor, the A17 4G, in both weight and thickness. It features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports only 25W wired charging.
In terms of cameras, the device features a triple rear camera system consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens, along with a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies. The phone runs on One UI 9, based on Android 17, and Samsung is committed to providing six years of major operating system updates, bringing the phone up to Android 23 with ongoing security updates until the end of October 2032. The Galaxy A18 4G is available in light blue, black, and gray, priced at €280 in France and approximately 3290 SEK in Norway and Sweden through the official Samsung store.
